Phased Tryout Process

Our multi-round tryout model ensures every athlete is evaluated thoroughly and placed on a team where they’ll thrive.

Round 1: Initial Evaluations and Pool Placements (July 21–22)

During initial evaluations, athletes are placed into one of the following three pools based on skill, athletic potential, positional needs, and emotional maturity: 

• Local: designed for beginner and emerging athletes competing in tournaments across the Wasatch Front

• Regional: intermediate, experienced athletes competing at a higher level of competition in local, regional, and one national qualifying tournament

• National: designated for our most advanced and competitive athletes, aiming for a national bid and collegiate exposure 
   

These pool placements serve as a starting point, not the final destination. Though athletes won’t yet be assigned to a specific team or coach yet, pool placement is secure—unless otherwise wait-listed for a higher pool.

Round 2: Make-Up Tryouts & 12U-14U team placements (Date & Time TBA)

Make-up tryouts for athletes who missed initial pool placements, athletes seeking re-evaluation following initial round pool assignments, and FINAL TEAM PLACEMENTS for 12U-14U teams.

 

Those who participated in initial evaluations need not re-register for Round 2. However, athletes are highly advised to participate as directors and coaches will be finalizing our 12U-14U teams

Round 3: Final Make-up and 15U-18U Team Placements (Date & Time TBA)

Following high school state championships, we'll host our last round of  tryouts and finalize ALL team placements.
